Ruth King, a 5th grade teacher in Alpine School District. She was presented the National Council for the Social Studies Outstanding Elementary Teacher of the Year award for 2011. Ruth is a Master Teacher Ambassador for Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia, and serves as a Peer Facilitator for the Summer Teacher Institute there. She also is a Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) Teachers Network Mentor, and serves as the Utah Geographic Alliance Secretary-Treasurer. In addition she was a member of the Alpine School District’s Teaching American History (TAH) Grant Steering Committee and was a TAH Master Teacher for 4th, 5th, 8th grade, and High School teachers during that grant period (2005-2014). Ruth has been a frequent presenter at UCET since 2009.
